Ingredients

12 large pasta shells

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded

1/2 cup buffalo sauce (adjust to taste)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, plus extra for topping

1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles (more for garnishing if desired)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 cup marinara sauce (for the bottom of the baking dish)

Extra buffalo sauce (optional, for drizzling on top)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking.

Cook the Pasta Shells: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until they reach an al dente texture. Once cooked, drain the shells and allow them to cool slightly for easier handling.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with buffalo sauce. Then, add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, blue cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth and creamy filling.

Stuff the Shells: Take each cooled pasta shell and gently fill it with approximately 1 to 2 tablespoons of the buffalo chicken filling, depending on the shell's size. Continue this process until all shells are filled.

Assemble in Baking Dish: Spread half of the marinara sauce evenly across the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place the stuffed shells seam-side up on top of the marinara layer. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, ensuring they are well-covered.

Add Cheese and Bake: Sprinkle any remaining mozzarella cheese and additional blue cheese crumbles over the top of the dish. To retain moisture and prevent sticking, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (you may lightly spray the foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

Uncover and Broil: After 20 minutes have passed, carefully remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes. This will allow the cheese to become bubbly and golden brown. For added allure, place the dish under the broiler for an additional 1-2 minutes, monitoring closely to achieve a beautifully browned cheese top.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for several minutes. Drizzle extra buffalo sauce on top if desired, and finish by garnishing with finely chopped green onions before serving to add a fresh touch.
