1 pound ground chicken

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (for an extra crunch)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried basil)

1 cup marinara sauce (your choice: homemade or store-bought)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil for greasing

Instructions
 

Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 370°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes as you start preparing the chicken mixture.

    Prepare the chicken mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and chopped basil. Use your hands or a spatula to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well blended.

      Grease the muffin tin: Lightly spray a muffin tin with cooking spray or apply a thin layer of olive oil to ensure easy removal of the chicken cups after cooking.

        Form the chicken cups: Evenly distribute the chicken mixture into the muffin cups, pressing down slightly to shape each cup. Aim for each cup to hold about 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture for optimal cooking.

          Air fry the chicken cups: Place the muffin tin in the preheated air fryer and air fry the chicken cups for 10 minutes.

            Add marinara sauce: After the initial 10 minutes, carefully pull out the muffin tin (it will be hot!) and spoon about a tablespoon of marinara sauce over each chicken cup, spreading it evenly.

              Top with mozzarella: Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each marinara-covered chicken cup, ensuring each one is well-covered.

                Continue air frying: Return the muffin tin to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the chicken is thoroughly cooked (the internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

                  Cool and serve: Carefully remove the muffin tin from the air fryer and allow the chicken parm cups to cool for a few minutes before serving.

                    Garnish & enjoy: For a fresh finish, garnish with extra chopped basil. Serve these delightful chicken parm cups with additional marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
