Ingredients

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup BBQ sauce (choose your favorite brand or use a homemade recipe)

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

12 slider buns

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Pickles, for garnish (optional)

Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Start by placing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into the slow cooker. Liberally season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance the flavor.

Make the BBQ Sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed for a uniform flavor profile.

Slow Cook: Pour the BBQ sauce mixture evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on the low setting for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The chicken should be cooked until it’s tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.

Shred the Chicken: Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Use two forks to shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded chicken back into the slow cooker and stir it gently to ensure it’s well-coated with the BBQ sauce.

Prepare the Sliders: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take the slider buns and carefully slice them in half horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves of the buns in a baking dish, placing them cut side up.

Fill the Sliders: Generously spoon the BBQ chicken mixture onto each bottom half of the slider buns. After that, sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the chicken to create a delicious cheesy layer.

Top and Bake: Place the top halves of the buns back on the cheese. For an extra burst of flavor, you may brush a little melted butter over the top of the slider buns. Bake in the preheated oven for around 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are slightly golden and crispy.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. If you like, garnish with pickles and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro or parsley. Serve the sliders warm and savor the smoky, sweet flavors!

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 6-8 hours | Servings: 12 sliders

Presentation Tips: Arrange the sliders on a large platter with a small bowl of pickles and fresh herbs arranged around them for a vibrant presentation.
